What methods of remote viewing does Verevio support?
Different teachers use different methods.
Our remote viewing trainers are mostly based on Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV). It was developed within a U.S. military program. Over time, the program participants and researchers adapted it into other versions and methods.
Today, there are about a dozen recognized methods for training remote viewing, including CRV, TRV, HRVG, ERV, IRV, Flow, Cowboy RV, Freestyle, and even ARV with its variations.
Let’s break down each.
CRV (Controlled Remote Viewing) — a military six-stage protocol of describing a target, developed in the early 1980s by Ingo Swann in collaboration with professionals from the military and sciences as part of the U.S. Army’s Star Gate program. The method was tested under laboratory conditions and validated through years of operational use. Today, it remains the most structured and influential remote viewing methodology, forming the foundation for nearly all modern approaches.
TRV (Technical Remote Viewing) — a method based on CRV but with more extended protocols for deeper target analysis and greater detail. It was introduced in the mid-1990s by Major Ed Dames (U.S. Army, retired). It was not that popular, as the process turned out to be overwhelming.
HRVG (Hawaii Remote Viewers’ Guild) — a method combining military intelligence procedures and NLP techniques. It also includes CRV/ERV elements, such as the “blackboard” visualization process to train the subconscious for accurate perception. It was developed in the 1980s by Glenn Wheaton (former U.S. Army Special Forces) together with Dr. Richard Ireland.
ERV ( Extended Remote Viewing) — a protocol that involves entering a near-sleep, hypnagogic condition to perceive and describe target impressions in a continuous flow. It was developed in the 1980s by Skip Atwater during the second phase of the Star Gate program and was designed to complement CRV.
Flow — an interpretation of the Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV) method introduced by Daz Smith, a UK-based practitioner with many years of remote viewing experience. The method supports a dynamic, symbiotic development between practitioner and technique.
Cowboy Remote Viewing — a freeform, intuitive method developed by Dave2, an online figure from the remote viewing community. Also called “Cowboy RV”, it is considered an “anti-methodology” that rejects rigid protocols used in systems like CRV or ERV.
Freestyle (Open Remote Viewing) — an intuitive format of training where the viewer describes impressions spontaneously without structure. It is often used in personal or experimental practice to explore perception freely.
ARV (Associative Remote Viewing) — a predictive mechanism based on the remote viewing methodology linking real-life events to specific images or targets that you need to perceive. It was developed by Stephan A. Schwartz to allow viewers to describe an image they would later receive feedback on, helping forecast future outcomes.
In general, our app can be useful for any approach or methodology.
Is Verevio free?
For most starters, it will provide a lot of free training content but for those who would like to support our project and get higher limits we offer paid subscription.

(Note: The app works on iPad, but full tablet optimization is coming soon).
Can I test my remote viewing abilities with Verevio?
Yes, you can. Download the app, go to Remote Viewing Nexus trainer, follow hints or onboarding video. Besides, there are other trainers made specifically for testing and training your RV abilities like First Impressions and Remote Viewing Location.
Can I train remote viewing alone?
Definitely! The application was started with a concept of self-training. As very often you don’t have time for a partner or a specific environment set-up. Usually it takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare: get a list, find a target, check whether it is new, read feedback. We automated the process so you can focus on the practice itself. We have a list of trainers for RV practice. And each trainer clearly shows you the steps to take. When you finish a round, you can check your results and work on getting better.
Does CIA use RV?
As this is a secret service it is hard to tell for sure. However, we can say that from time to time new documents are undisclosed with further research of RV.
Is RV the same as clairvoyance?
For today RV is a quintessence of all extrasensory perception abilities. Clairvoyance is the closest analogy, except RV is more rigid in terms of tasking, blind method, very often double blind — tasker doesn’t know what target is about, to reduce potential telepathy overlay between tasker and viewer.
What is RV in spirituality?
Spirituality is a process of development. Any proper development should have some proof in order not to trap in illusions. RV or legit clairvoyance is a great example of development of human abilities. You won’t succeed in your RV journey without fostering your spirit.
How do you do RV?
There are several well-known protocols. For now we’re trying to follow CRV (Controlled Remote Viewing). To start you don’t need to read about it. Just install, open the app, check the onboarding video, and follow the questions in the Remote Viewing Nexus.
Has Remote Viewing been proven (legitimate)?
Yes, this practice was researched by Stanford Research Institute (SRI) during the Cold War under the patronage of the CIA. Physicists Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ with Ingo Swann, the artist, conducted several impressive experiments with perception of hidden remote objects and geographical locations. In one such experiment, Swann described the Jupiter planet rings, later verified by NASA spacecraft. In another experiment, he was asked to scan a box. Without seeing what’s inside, he described that it is “alive” and it turned out to be a moth put there by someone of the participants. And, he is confirmed to correctly sketch a magnetometer. Besides, there is a lot of different research made after that.
Where can I get practice targets?
You can get them inside
our app in the Remote Viewing Nexus trainer.
How does our target pool differ from a free target pool?
As of June 2025, we offer the largest remote viewing database with over 5,900 manually verified targets across 22 specialized trainers. In the Remote Viewing Nexus alone, you will find 1,000+ handpicked targets. These are rich in entropy, weird, mysterious, bizarre, unsolved, paranormal phenomena. New ones are added weekly.
Each target includes deep layers of analysis:
- First impression or primary gestalt
- What is the origin of the target? Is it part of something larger?
- How and when was it discovered?
- Are there any ancient traces, secrets, myths, or hoaxes linked to it?
You will also receive precise environment data:
- GPS coordinates, Exact Date, and Origin
- Details like, Temperature, Lighting, Colors, Shapes and Lines, Masses and Density, Textures, and Taste.
- Insights into nearby Lifeforms
All of this feeds into the
Quiz, designed to sharpen your senses.
Do you have a target generator?
We don’t recommend using any random target generators as it is better to start from the targets that are set and verified by real humans. It’s still an open question — the performance of success for targets set by a machine or AI and a real human. Our focus is on verified, mapped, human-checked targets.
How do I check my target practice results?
Each round’s results are saved locally on your device. A round can include anywhere from 1 to 24 trials, depending on the trainer. After completing it, you’ll get a visual performance summary — with charts, stats, and key indicators like Accuracy, Hit/Miss Ratio, Strength of Evidence, Chance Probability, and Random Probability (in development and coming soon). We’re actively improving this section. Soon, you’ll be able to track your progress over time with special graphs.
What is the process behind selecting the practice images?
Every target you get is handpicked. We seek out objects, places and events with a strong energy, emotional resonance, and historical weight. That might be a world record, an ancient structure, a powerful moment, or a place people describe as "power" or "paranormal". We also rotate in entropy-rich targets to keep your perception agile.
Are your Target Numbers (TN) unique?
Yes, we use a unique, complex mechanism to provide you with only one TN across all RV trainers. All of our TNs are set by humans.
Do you have a Tasking/Cue?
Yes, as you know without a proper tasking, it’s very hard to verify the results of any remote viewing practice — anything can be seen as a part of the target. That’s why we put real thought into this feature: you get a direct cue for each target, so you can focus on what matters. Just like our targets, TN, and descriptions, all Taskings are created by humans.
Are there risks associated with RV?
We do not recommend practicing remote viewing or any other extrasensory techniques for individuals with mental health issues.
Are you active on Reddit?
Yes, we have a presence on Reddit. Some of our customers are active Reddit users. We engage with various subreddits, feel free to check out our comments.
Why does Wikipedia say there's no evidence for RV?
Wikipedia often reflects mainstream skepticism and is heavily edited by critics of psi phenomena. This can result in biased coverage and removal of supportive sources. For a more balanced view, we recommend the Star Gate Archives series by Edwin May and Sonali Marwaha. This four volume collection documents decades of Remote Viewing research through detailed reports, analyses, and raw data.
